I’ve been in New Orleans and Sacramento since my last post and am trying to pick up my scattered life. Lots of pictures to post, but not today.

OK, just one.

Eatery struck by car; patron hurt

Story appeared in the Sacramento Bee METRO section, Page B2
A restaurant patron was injured Friday night after a car rammed into a downtown eatery.
Police said the man, who has not been identified, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident happened at 7:45 p.m., when the Amarin Thai restaurant at 12th and I streets had about 20 people inside.
Gary Levenson-Palmer, a regular customer, said the impact “sounded like a bomb, a gunshot.” Sacramento Police Lt. James Hendrickson said the car that crashed into the restaurant, a small Kia, was westbound on I Street. It collided with another car, a Ford Thunderbird, at the intersection when one of the cars apparently ran a red light.
Both cars slid off the road, Hendrickson said. The Thunderbird struck a traffic signal post. The Kia ran into the wall of the restaurant and hit a man having dinner by the window near the entrance. Neither driver appeared to be injured, according to witnesses.

on the way to somewhere else, we got (a little bit) lost

we didn’t go to church

although we admired the architecture

we didn’t go to the Bank, although I’m very fond of this picture

We didn’t go to the Theatre (it was far too early)

We got stopped by a train

despite the gray, it did not rain

I met Liz and her nice boy for a drink at the Sheraton
Act II

and was then running through the rain to meet Sadie at the Crest …

and I thought - how many times have I run down K Street in the rain?
Act III

and then Sadie and I took pictures of old buildings

and of ourselves in odd lighting.

1. didn’t it occur to anyone that a grown man running around with a nickname like “Scooter” might not be the right person to put into a position of authority?
2. I’m done with the “cliffhangers” on Grey’s Anatomy - will Christina and Callie say yes? will Meredith get fished out of the water in time? On the other hand, I’m delighted to see that there are still viable candidates to star in The Bad Seed redux.
