Maya in Wonderland

I worked all weekend because I’m heading to DC tomorrow night, partly to finally meet the lovely Miss (Mrs!) Andrea’s son, and partly to see Rachael and Brian and ostensibly to attend a sustainable housing conference at the National Building Museum. I’m sort of packed, the house is sort of clean and I’m pretty much done with my work. If that fails to inspire confidence in you, well, it’s the same for me, but I’m heading cross country in 24 hours and that’s just going to be how it is. I’m trying to affect Life Changes here and some things are going to have to remain half done.

except that I was bored out of my MIND at work, but that’s to be expected with most jobs at some point, right? Good is that my room smells divinely of the honeysuckle thoughtfully planted outside the window and good is that Netflix has finally added “Watch Now” to my area and so I’ve movies on demand (although it won’t work with Firefox and so I had to SEARCH OUT where I’d stashed the IE icon because I’ve not used it for so long) and Good is the South African apple cider and Good is the fresh mozerella cheese that I’d going to eat with tomatoes and fresh kalamata olive bread and basil from the plant that’s growing really nicely and OMG SO GOOD are the cherries I’ll have for dessert.

the Bad of the weekend was that I spent the whole time sick in bed (again - SO done with this cold!!!) but the Good of the weekend was that I discovered that NBC had the full season of Heroes online, so I was at least entertained in between the coughing and the blowing of the nose.

Sometimes, staff meetings are fun. Too bad I’m still DYING from this stupid cold.
