Maya in Wonderland

I gathered up every single piece of “this is me” documentation that I possess and headed to the DMV. My California drivers license was taken away and with it, a small piece of my old identity. It’s weird and because it’s weird, I’m telling myself that it’s necessary. Nothing has happened that’s irreversible and I need to be more comfortable with change.

Fortunately, the picture is passable (which was, of course, my primary concern)

horizontal is preferable to vertical when it comes to sleeping and I’m tired from the overnight flight, tired from the day of work, and tired from the two night meetings. Tired.

up late, over to the Coffee Cup for brunch and then to Viento y Agua to linger over coffee (iced for me, Mexican mocha for him)

and then wandered through the

and ended up the evening with tacos and margaritas. I slept really well on the flight home.

We had lunch at Olivera Street

then headed to the California Science Center for

we entertained ourselves until everyone else showed

Afterwards, we went downtown

to meet the gang for beer at the Bonaventure. Downtown LA is shiny and tall.

in the morning, it was Good Deeds, weeding flowerbeds in the park

tonight, I’m headed west for two days of California fun. I had visions of a vintage suitcase and glamorous travel outfit, but it’s going to be 90 degrees, so I’m opting for cute and comfortable. Can’t wait!
